TV personality Kelly Ripa has laid bare a very intimate detail about the time she spent filming her hit show from home during the pandemic—admitting to “Live with Kelly and Mark” viewers that she would routinely tape footage without any pants on.

The 55-year-old on-air host admitted that she got a little too comfortable while filming from her $27 million New York City townhouse, confessing that she would not only film in just a blouse, but would also sneak snack breaks during commercials.

Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, 55, were discussing how the pandemic shifted people from workaholics to homebodies prompting the mother of three to confess that she loved staying within the walls of her luxe dwelling.

“Some of us have been homebodies all of our lives,” Ripa said as she noted she prefers being at her New York property more than anywhere else.

Meanwhile, her spouse noted that the pandemic allowed people to work from home for the first time, to which Ripa responded that she “loved” filming from inside their property—because she wasn’t forced to get fully dolled up.

“I loved doing the show without pants on. Guess what? While you were watching the show and we were shooting from a computer screen, I had a blouse on top and nothing on the bottom,” she confessed.

And, Ripa said there was much more to her eccentric work routine, revealing that she was also sneaking cereal into her work space, adding that she regularly had a “bowl of Grape-Nuts clutched in between my thighs.”

“We would go to commercial break and I would be Grape-Nutting it, and then, back to air. It was great!” she added.

The couple has been living in their lavish townhouse since 2013, when they purchased the enormous property for $27 million—having sold their former dwelling in Soho for $20 million.

In a 2024 video shoot for Architectural Digest, Ripa revealed that she fell in love with the townhouse as soon as she laid eyes on it, recalling: “I was like, ‘It’s perfect, just hand me my toothbrush.’ We’ve moved several times in our lives, but no matter where we go, for me, this is my forever home.

“When I walked in here, I was like, ‘This is the final place where I will live.’ I love this house so much.”

However, Consuelos revealed that he had wanted to add some personal touches to the home to suit their very specific tastes before they moved in. So the couple tapped designers William Sofield and Emma O’Neill of Studio Sofield to bring their vision of 1920s and 1930s “French glamour” to life.

The result is a mix of art deco and modern style that breathes new life into vintage pieces, including dual armoires that are now used as storage for sports equipment, while their shoes are hidden away in a custom-designed cabinet.

The overhaul they carried out before moving in helped them to create their perfect “forever home,” they said—with Ripa noting that she never plans to leave the property.

“I don’t want to sound morbid, but they’ll have to carry me out of here feet first because I have gotten good and comfortable in this house,” she joked.

Their lives have transformed since the pair moved in over a decade ago. Not only have their children—Joaquin, 21, Lola, 23, and Michael, 27—long since flown the coop, the duo have also experienced many professional evolutions.

Ripa, the longtime host of a syndicated daytime talk show, has cycled through numerous co-hosts during her time in the home. She first appeared on the show with Regis Philbin in 2001, then spent a year anchoring the series solo. In 2012, she welcomed Michael Strahan as her sidekick.

Ryan Seacrest took over as co-host in 2017. Finally, in 2023, Consuelos was announced as the show’s co-host with his wife.

The couple met on the set of the soap opera “All My Children” in the 1990s.
