Trade adviser Peter Navarro continued the White House’s pressure to get JPMorgan Chase and Jamie Dimon to cap credit card interest rates, a demand of President Trump amid his push to address affordability.
Trump’s push for a limit on interest rates has drawn pushback from some of the largest banks and card issuers, with Dimon saying the move would spark an “economic disaster” for the US.

What is the point of tarrifs? Originally, Trump said the replace income tax. Obviously impossible. Is it to pay down the debt? How much were collected in 2025? Less than $300 billion. The debt is over $36 Trillion. In 2025, the interest on the US debt was over $900 billion. The cost of operating the government is over $5 trillion. Most important, how much ist it going to cost the government for all the incentives (no tax on tips, overtime, No Tax on Car Loan Interest and the $1000 per person hand out)? If that exceeds the $300 billion collected by tarrifs, was it worth it? When is the US going to be financially responsible with their budget?
