Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders star Reece Weaver is taking fans along for her move to the Big Apple, offering a first look inside her new New York City apartment—just months after putting down roots in Alabama.

Weaver, 24, who hails from Florida, shot to fame while appearing in Netflix’s hit series “America’s Sweethearts,” which documented the grueling tryout process faced by members of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, or DCC, each season.

Her bubbly personality and showstopping dance skills quickly propelled her into a fan-favorite team member, helping open the door to a host of opportunities beyond the sidelines, including lucrative brand deals and a devoted social media following.

After hanging up her cowboy boots, Weaver returned to Alabama, where she previously attended the University of Alabama, with her husband, Will Allman. The couple appeared to be putting down permanent roots in the state when they snapped up a $750,000 home.

But on Aug. 11, Weaver stunned fans when she announced that she would be trading Alabama for Broadway after landing the role of Roxie Hart in the hit musical “Chicago.”

Now, the former cheerleader has revealed that she and Allman are relocating to New York City for her exciting new chapter—and she documented the emotional journey for her followers.

In a newly posted TikTok video, Weaver shared footage from the couple’s move from Alabama to Manhattan, admitting that the reality of the relocation was beginning to sink in.

“Come with us as we move to NYC,” she said at the beginning of the clip while sporting an Alabama-themed hat.

“The time has finally come. … It’s kind of surreal that this is all happening. Will has been packing the truck, we have four jam-packed suitcases and our carry-ons are filled to the brim,” she explained.

Weaver revealed that Allman would later return to Alabama to pick up their dog, Ruby, as well as more of their belongings, before joining her again in New York.

“Right now, we tried to do our best packing all the necessities, so I’m going to take you along, this is crazy!” she added.

The clip then cut to Weaver grinning from ear to ear in the car as the words “to the airport!!!” flashed across the screen.

However, the excitement soon turned bittersweet after she dropped off Ruby, with Weaver returning to the car with tears in her eyes.

“It’s getting more real,” she conceded.

She went on to document the couple’s flight to their new home base, capturing sweeping views of New York City as they made their way into Manhattan.

Once inside their new apartment, Weaver gave fans a glimpse of the space, which features a large window that floods the room with natural light, contemporary furnishings and a generously sized kitchen with plenty of cabinet space.

“The chef is in his kitchen,” Weaver joked as Allman admired the storage in their new cooking space.

After a whirlwind day of travel and unpacking, the couple celebrated their first night in the city with sushi in bed.

Several of Weaver’s former DCC teammates quickly flooded the comments section with messages of support, gushing over how “proud” they were of the Broadway newcomer as she embarked on her next chapter.

Weaver’s big move to NYC comes just two months after she announced that she and Allman are the proud new owners of a property in Tuscaloosa.

“Home SWEET home,” she wrote on her account, while sharing images of the happy couple posing outside of their new abode alongside their beloved pet dog.

The post was quickly teeming with congratulatory messages from other team members, including Charly Barby, who praised the elegant dwelling as “perfect,” while Kelly Villares commented: “Can’t wait to visit. So happy for you two.”

Though Weaver did not share any further details about the home, property records show that she and her spouse closed on the dwelling on May 11, just a few weeks before the news of her exit from DCC was revealed to stunned fans.

Located on a half-acre of land in a picturesque suburb of Tuscaloosa, the property features ample room for several of Weaver’s former teammates to stop by, should they wish. It offers four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and more than 3,600 square feet of living space.

Built in 2013, the property was “thoughtfully” designed, the listing states. It features several spacious living areas, as well as outdoor entertaining spaces, along with an external fireplace.

The dwelling is also located just a short distance from the couple’s alma mater, the University of Alabama, where Weaver was a prominent member of the dance team.

Weaver and Allman, who worked with real estate agent Jessica Gilmore of Arc Realty on their home purchase, can also be assured that they’ll enjoy plenty of privacy at the dwelling, which is set behind a gated driveway, allowing them the chance to relax away from prying eyes.

However, the former dancer has already given her fans and followers a brief glimpse inside the dwelling on her Instagram account, filming herself preparing for a trip to New York City, where she took part in promotional events for the latest season of the Netflix show.

Weaver and her spouse also shared some emotional insight into their life since her time on the cheerleading squad came to an end several months ago. While the latest season of the show has only just been released, the events that it documents took place during the 2025 NFL season.

Sitting down with the Wall Street Journal at their new abode, Weaver voiced her frustration that so many fans of the show have directed vitriol at her husband—with many blaming him for her departure from the team, suggesting that he has demanded she fulfill the role of housewife.

During the third season of the Netflix show, Weaver was seen struggling to figure out where her future lay—with the team, or without it—and she repeatedly turned to her husband for advice, breaking down in tears on multiple occasions, including when she prayed with him in their car, before delivering her news to the team’s director, Kelli Finglass.

But Weaver insisted that her husband was nothing but supportive of her decision, telling the outlet that he was ready to stand by her side whether she chose to continue with the DCC or not.

“It makes me frustrated, because that could not be more far from the truth,” the former Netflix star said. “He was so supportive, no matter what decision I made.”

Allman, for his part, was quick to shrug off the backlash, noting that it is only natural for his wife’s fans to seek out someone or something to blame for her exit.

While the former cheerleader has yet to reveal where her future career path might take her, she hasn’t been able to cut ties with the Dallas-based team just yet. She joined her former co-stars for a promotional tour across the U.S., making appearances on the “Today” show and “The Tonight Show” with host Jimmy Fallon.

During a recent appearance on the “Human School” podcast, Weaver also shed some light on her next steps, admitting that she is still “trying to figure out what is next,” but has already got some “fun projects” in the bank.

“We don’t know what the next steps are, but we know that the Lord was calling us back to Tuscaloosa and we had so much peace with that,” she shared. “We have some other fun projects that I’ve been working on.

“As I’ve been on the Cowboys, I have a book coming out that’s really exciting. There are things in the works and things to come. But right now, I feel like I’m in a part of my life where I’m trying to feel encouraged, inspired, and to see really what is next.”
